Privacy Policy

OnTheGrass ("the app") is a coaching tool for football drills, session plans, set pieces, player development, and tactics, built for desktop (Windows), Android, and iOS. This policy explains what happens to your data when you use it.

Data storage

OnTheGrass does not use a cloud account, and it does not have a server that stores your data. All information you enter into the app - drills, session plans, set pieces, tactics boards, images, and any other content you create - is stored locally on your own device, in the app's local database and file storage.

This includes the optional Player Development feature, where a coach can record information about their own players - such as a player's name, date of birth, attendance, development notes, and an optional photo - entirely to support that coach's own record-keeping. This information is entered by the coach, stays on the coach's own device the same way as everything else in the app, and is never transmitted anywhere by the app itself.

We (the developer) have no access to this data. It is never transmitted to us or to any third party automatically by the app.

Backup and transfer between devices

OnTheGrass includes a manual backup/export feature so you can move your data between your own devices (for example, from desktop to your Android or iOS device). These backup files are created and stored wherever you choose to save them - typically on your own device, cloud storage folder, or removable media that you control. OnTheGrass does not upload backups anywhere on its own.

OnTheGrass also offers an optional Cloud Folder Sync feature, off by default, for coaches who use more than one device. When you turn it on, each device writes its own data file into a folder you choose - typically a folder that your own cloud storage app (such as Google Drive, Dropbox, or OneDrive) already keeps in sync. Your other devices can then read that folder to offer you the newer data, which you always confirm before it's applied. OnTheGrass itself never uploads anything to a server and never talks to any cloud provider's API - it only reads and writes a file in a folder on your device, and it's your own cloud storage app, already installed and signed in on your terms, that does the actual syncing between your devices. We (the developer) have no access to this folder or its contents.

Contact and support

If you contact the developer directly - for example, by emailing us with a bug report, feedback, or a support request - any information you choose to include in that message (such as your email address or details about an issue you're experiencing) is received and handled like any other personal email. This is not automatic or built into the app; it only happens if you choose to reach out.

Third parties

OnTheGrass does not include third-party analytics, advertising, or tracking software. It does not sell or share your data, because it does not collect your data in the first place.

Children's privacy

OnTheGrass is a tool intended for use by coaches to plan training sessions and manage their own squad's development - it is not directed at children, and children do not use the app themselves. A coach may choose to enter information about their players (including minors) into the optional Player Development feature described above, purely for their own coaching record-keeping. OnTheGrass itself does not collect this information - it stays on the coach's own device, the same as everything else in the app, and is never transmitted to us or anyone else.

Changes to this policy

If this policy changes - for example, if a future version of the app changes how data storage or sync works, or introduces crash reporting - this page will be updated to reflect that, and the "last updated" date above will change accordingly.
